Design Rules

We consider the printed circuit board (PCB) as a component of the entire design. We only implement multilayer boards . This expensive but worthy strategy helps in minimizing trace lengths, and also provides excellent grounding and shielding of the electronic design, preserving subtle harmonics of the original signal. The input section is very much straight forward and is free from relays or transistor cascades. Since the signals derive from quality preamps a further signal amplification at the input stage can be circumvented.

Frequency Crossover

The crossover section is always of major importance. It is here were classic loudspeaker concepts suffer most. Passive components and crossovers do affect the signal timing and phase behavior tremendously. These crossovers often degrade the three dimensional listening experience. But also active crossovers are difficult to tune for optimal results. For the definition of the crossover frequency we use a subtractive crossover design based upon Burr Brown®  and Texas instruments®  FET-modules giving almost freedom from phase problems.
